Galentine’s Day Fun with Bunco Jumble!

One of our committee members shared this with me today! What a fun tradition with the girls!

Happy “Galentines Day”!

A small group of my friends have unofficially declared February 13th “Galentine’s Day” …the day before Valentine’s Day when you get to celebrate the love and friendship of your best Gals.

Like most fabulous ideas, this happened by chance as a group of us met for a glass of wine last year on February 13th. We were discussing our Valentine’s Day plans (or lack thereof) and thought that we should make it a point to get together every year on this day to toast each other.

This year we are celebrating at my place with some snacks and some wine of course. I decided to pull out this super crowd-pleaser Bunco Jumble. It’s perfect for a girls night in, class room party, or family get together. Nobody can resist the sweet/salty mix of all your favorite snacks mixed together.

Bunco Jumble from The Life of the Party

1 box mini Ritz peanut butter sandwich crackers
1 cup dry roasted peanuts
1 (12-oz) bag mini pretzel sticks or twists
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1/2 cut light corn syrup
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 (10-oz) package mini or regular “M&M’s” chocolate candies

Bunco Jumble
Combine the sandwich crackers, peanuts and pretzels in a large roasting pan. Heat the sugar, butter and corn syrup in a sauce pan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir in the vanilla and baking soda. Pour over the cracker mixture, stirring to coat well. Bake at 250 degrees for 45 minutes, stirring the mixture every 15 minutes. Remove to waxed paper and the chocolate candies and let cool completely. Break up the mixture into small pieces as necessary.

So Cheers to my favorite Gals… even if you don’t get roses at least you know your best girls are always there to share an sweet treat with you!
